EGX adds LE9.5B to market capitalization Monday

CAIRO – 12 November 2018: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday’s session in a mixed performance, amid Arab selling, and market capitalization gained LE 9.5 billion.

The benchmark EGX30 rose 0.79 percent, or 107.47 points, to close at 13,678.36 points.

The equally weighted index EGX50 hiked 0.70 percent, or 15.37 points, to reach 2,203.79 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 decreased 0.09 percent, or 0.66 points, reaching 701.78 points, and the broader index EGX100 stabilized at 1,756.25 points.

Market capitalization won LE 9.54 billion, recording LE 781.53 billion, compared to LE 771.99 billion in Sunday’s session.

The trading volume reached 372.14 million shares, traded through 27,521 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.74 billion.

Arab investors were net sellers at LE 125.55 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 103.21 and LE22.34 million, respectively.

Egyptian and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 15.91 million and LE 3.09 million, respectively, while Arab individuals were net sellers at LE 585.15 million.

Egyptian, Arab and foreign organizations bought at LE 87.29 million, LE 459.59 million and LE 19.24 million, respectively.

Modern Shorouk Printing& Packaging, Samad Misr- EGYFERT, and Alexandria New Medical Center were top gainers of the session by 9.84 percent, 8.76 percent and 8.38 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Rakta Paper Manufacturing, Misr Beni Suef Cement, and Mansoura Poultry were top losers of the session by 9.23 percent, 4.63 percent, and 4.20 percent, respectively.

The EGX ended Sunday’s session in red, as EGX30 lessened 1.18 percent, EGX50 dropped 0.55 percent, EGX70 decreased 0.05 percent, and EGX100 declined 0.23 percent.
