EGX ends Wednesday on mixed note, market cap. gains LE7.2B

CAIRO – 7 November 2018: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday’s session on a mixed note, amid Arab and foreign selling, and market capitalization won LE 7.2 billion.

The benchmark EGX30 jumped 1.34 percent, or 179.74 points, to close at 13,615.85 points.

The equally weighted index EGX50 hiked 1.26 percent, or 27.03 points, to reach 2,194 points.

On the other hand, the small and mid-cap index EGX70 declined 1.58 percent, or 11.13 points, reaching 692.1 points, and the broader index EGX100 inched down 1.03 percent, or 18.09 points, closing at 1,737.16 points.

Market capitalization added LE 7.2 billion, recording LE 773.37 billion, compared to LE 766.1 billion in Tuesday’s session.

The trading volume reached 284.32 million shares, traded through 35,000 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.17 billion.

Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 1.8 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 600,498 and LE 1.27 million, respectively.

Egyptian and Arab individuals were net sellers at LE 20.05 million and LE 18.06 million, respectively, while foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 1.63 million.

Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 58.31 million and LE 24.95 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 4.43 million.

The EGX ended Monday’s session in green, as EGX30 hiked 1.52 percent, EGX50 inched up 2.15 percent, EGX70 rose 3.10percent, and EGX100 increased 2.58 percent.
