Green color dominates trading on EGX Tuesday

CAIRO – 6 November 2018: Indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) were colored in green by the end of mid-week session, recording a hike for the second consecutive session, and market capitalization gained 11.28 billion, amid Egyptian and foreign purchases.

The benchmark EGX30 jumped 1.52 percent, or 201.49 points, to close at 13,436.11 points.

The equally weighted index EGX50 hiked 2.15 percent, or 45.62 points, to reach 2,166.97 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 rose 3.10 percent, or 21.14 points, reaching 703.23 points, and the broader index EGX100 inched up 2.58 percent, or 44.12 points, closing at 1,755.25 points.

Market capitalization added LE 11.28 billion, recording LE 766.1 billion, compared to LE 754.82 billion in Monday’s session.

The trading volume reached 310.32 million shares, traded through 32,974 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.19 billion.

Arab investors were net sellers at LE 78.35 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 13.44 million and LE 64.91 million, respectively.

Egyptian and Arab individuals were net sellers at LE 20.05 million and LE 18.06 million, respectively, while foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 1.63 million, respectively.

Arab organizations sold at LE 60.29 million, while Egyptian and foreign organizations bought at LE 33.49 million and LE 63.28 million, respectively.

Delta Insurance, Modern Shorouk Printing & Packaging, and Canal Shipping Agencies were top gainers of the session by 10 percent, 10 percent and 8.73 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Egypt Aluminum, Nasr Company for Civil Works, Arabian Food Industries DOMTY were top losers of the session by 6.78 percent, 3.50 percent, and 2.72 percent, respectively.

The EGX ended Sunday’s session in green, as EGX30 hiked 0.49 percent, EGX50 inched up 0.90 percent, EGX70 rose 0.01 percent, and EGX100 increased 0.02 percent.
