CAIRO - 1 October 2018: More than 317,000 residential units have been established in 2016-2017 at a total cost of 91.8 billion pounds, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
In 2015-2016, 263,500 residential units were built worth 43.5 billion pounds.
This is a 20.4% increase in the number of units, a CAPMAS statement said Monday.
The government implemented about 100,500 of all 317,200 units in 2016-2017.
Meanwhile, the private sector established about 216,600 units in the same year.
The housing projects implemented during the fiscal year 2016-2017 include low-cost, middle, upper middle, and luxurious housing units.
