EGX ends Sunday on mixed note amid Egyptian purchases

CAIRO – 30 September 2018: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday on mixed note for the second consecutive session, and market capitalization gained LE 1.93 billion, amid Egyptian purchases.

The benchmark EGX30 declined 0.11 percent, or 15.93 points, to close at 14,616.47 points.

On the other hand, the equally weighted index EGX50 rose 0.31 percent, or 6.94 points, to reach 2,278.39 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 increased 1.95 percent, or 13.62 points, reaching 712.40 points, and the broader index EGX100 inched up 1.45 percent, or 25.93 points, closing at 1,810.78 points.

Market capitalization gained LE 1.93 billion, recording LE 803.86 billion, compared to LE 801.93 billion in Thursday’s session.

The trading volume reached 183.55 million shares, traded through 19,539 transactions, with a turnover of LE 550.2 million.

Grand Investment Capital, Arab Valves Company, and Universal For Paper and Packaging Materials (Unipack) were top gainers of the session by 10 percent, 10 percent and 9.83 percent, respectively.

On the other hand, Misr Oils & Soap, Arabian Food Industries (DOMTY), and National Bank Of Kuwait- Egypt- NBK were top losers of the session by 9.96 percent, 9.44 percent, and 6.92 percent, respectively.

Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 48.99 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 10.85 million and LE 38.15 million, respectively.

Egyptian and Foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 29.61 million, and LE 50,720, respectively, while Arab investors were net sellers at LE 14.18 million.

Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 19.38 million and LE 3.33 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 38.19 million.

EGX ended Thursday's session on mixed performance, as EGX30 rose 0.14 percent, EGX70 increased 0.43 and EGX100 inched up 0.17 percent, while EGX50 decreased 0.38 percent.
