Egypt, Afreximbank discuss joint cooperation

CAIRO - 12 September 2018: Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar on Wednesday had talks with a delegation from the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) on current projects carried out by the bank in Egypt.

The talks also tackled future projects to be implemented by the bank in Egypt and means of enhancing joint cooperation in Africa in the domains of trade and industry.

In press statements, Nassar said that the file of joint cooperation between Egypt and other African countries comes on top of priorities of his ministry.

The ministry is seeking to boost trade and investment cooperation with other African countries, he added.

The meeting took up preparations for Egypt’s hosting of an African trade exhibition that will be held on December 11-17, he added.

The bank delegates said that financing inter-African trade projects comes on top of the bank’s priorities in the current phase.

They noted that Egypt is a major country in the African trade system.
