CAIRO – 29 August 2018: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday’s session in green, for the second consecutive session, and market capitalization gained LE 7.95 billion, amid foreign purchases.

The benchmark EGX30 rose 1.47 percent, or 229.55 points, to close at 15,835.73 points.

The equally weighted index EGX50 increased 0.78 percent, or 20.12 points, to reach 2,589.62 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 hiked 0.28 percent, or 2.11 points, reaching 745.30 points, and the broader index EGX100 inched up 0.55 percent, or 10.51 points, closing at 1,926.95 points.

Market capitalization gained LE 7.95 billion, recording LE 875.91 billion, compared to LE 867.96 billion in Tuesday’s session.

The trading volume reached 280.95 million shares, traded through 26,946 transactions, with a turnover of LE 907.34 million.

Misr National Steel – Ataqa, El Nasr Clothes & Textiles (Kabo), and Rakta Paper Manufacturing were top gainers of the session by 13.36 percent, 13.19 percent and 11.02 percent, respectively.

On the other hand, Misr Duty Free Shops, EDRs Of Al Salam Holding Company, and Lecico Egypt were top losers of the session by 8.48 percent, 7.07 percent, and 5.46 percent, respectively.

Egyptians investors were net sellers at LE 4.75 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 4.24 million and LE 517,392, respectively.

Egyptian, Arab and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 57.61 million, LE 3.6 million, and LE 104,086, respectively.


Egyptian, Arab and foreign organizations were net buyers at LE 52.86 million, LE 7.84 million, and LE 621,479, respectively.

EGX ended Tuesday’s session in green, as EGX30 hiked 2.43 points, EGX70 rose 1.61 percent, EGX100 increased 0.62 percent, and EGX100 inched up 1.06 percent.
