CAIRO - 19 August 2018: Petroleum Minister Tarek el Molla asserted on Sunday that any impediments are handled to step up the implementation rate of a national household gas connection program.

Molla has discussed the 2018 plan of the program, which is carried out in all governorates, during a meeting with Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) Chairman Osama el Bakly, said a statement issued by the Ministry of Petroleum.

The chiefs of energy companies involved in the program were present.

Fresh ways taken to accelerate the program's pace including an installment payment for connection fees were addressed at the meeting, said the statement, noting that the new facilitation had been long-awaited by citizens.

The newly applied six-year payment system was highly appreciated by the oil companies' chairmen, who said that it increased the number of applicants.

The minister stressed that the program's implementation should go as scheduled.
