CAIRO – 30 July 2018: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended econd session of the week in red, losing LE 2.53 billion to its market capitalization, amid Egyptian and Arab selling.

The benchmark EGX30 declined 0.53 percent, or 81.09 points, to close at 15,297.02 points.

The equally weighted index EGX50 dropped 0.94 percent, or 24.28 points, to reach 2,546.75 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 slipped 0.23 percent, or 1.74 points, reaching 740.36 points, and the broader index EGX100 inched down 0.21 percent, or 4.08 points, closing at 1,915.98 points.

Market capitalization lost LE 2.53 billion, recording LE 862.8 billion, compared to LE 865.34 billion in Sunday’s session.

The trading volume reached 139.78 million shares, traded through 17,169 transactions, with a turnover of LE 528.85 million.

Foreign investors were net buyers at LE 41.45 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers at LE 24.14 million and LE 17.32 million, respectively.

Egyptian, Arab and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 2.25 million, LE 3.2 million and LE 5.26 million, respectively.

Egyptian and Arab organizations sold at LE 21.88 million and LE 14.1 million, respectively, while foreign organizations bought at LE 46.7 million.

Canal Shipping Agencies, Egyptian International Tourism Projects, and AJWA for Food Industries company Egypt were top gainers of the session by 7.56 percent, 7.34 percent and 6.81 percent, respectively.

On the other hand, Misr Oils & Soap, Egyptian for Developing Building Materials, and Zahraa Maadi Investment & Development were top losers of the session by 9.80 percent, 8.03 percent and 6.28 percent, respectively.

EGX ended Sunday’s session in green, as EGX30 rose 1.18 percent, EGX50 upped 0.70 percent, EGX70 hiked 1.04 percent, and EGX100 increased 1.26 percent.
