EGX ends Sunday in green, market cap. gains LE 6.9B

CAIRO – 29 July 2018: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday’s session in green, adding LE 6.87 billion to its market capitalization, amid Egyptian purchases.

The benchmark EGX30 rose 1.18 percent, or 178.82 points, to close at 15,378.11 points.

The equally weighted index EGX50 hiked 0.70 percent, or 17.97 points, to reach 2,571.03 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 went up 1.04 percent, or 7.64 points, reaching 742.10 points, and the broader index EGX100 increased 1.26 percent, or 23.93 points, closing at 1,920.06 points.

Market capitalization gained LE 6.87 billion, recording LE 856.47 billion, compared to LE 858.47 billion in Thursday’s session. It achieved an increase of LE 6.6 billion during the first hour of Sunday’s trading, recording LE 865.07 billion.

The trading volume reached 187.9 million shares, traded through 15,293 transactions, with a turnover of LE 402.59 million.

Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 13.91 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 2.4 million and LE 11.5 million, respectively.

Arab and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 4.4 million, and LE 353,000, respectively, while Egyptian individuals were net buyers at LE 13.95 million.

Egyptian and foreign organizations sold at LE 43,142 and LE 11.16 million, respectively, while Arab organizations bought at LE 2 million.

Rakta Paper Manufacturing, Egyptian Starch & Glucose, and Eastern Company were top gainers of the session by 6.90 percent, 6.79 percent and 5.26 percent, respectively.

On the other hand, Delta for Printing & Packaging, Egyptian International Tourism Projects, and Nasr Company for Civil Works were top losers of the session by 9.20 percent, 9.12 percent and 4.81 percent, respectively.

EGX ended Thursday’s session on a mixed note, as EGX30 rose 0.09 percent, while EGX50 slipped 0.28 percent, EGX70 dropped 0.14, and EGX100 decreased 0.08 percent.
