EGX ends Monday on mixed note amid Egyptian selling

CAIRO – 25 June 2018: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday on mixed note, adding LE 86.46 million to its market capitalization, amid Egyptian selling.

The benchmark EGX30 rose 0.38 percent, or 62.49 points, to close at 16,457.51 points, and the broader index EGX100 climbed 0.08 percent, or 1.60 points, closing at 2,066.45 points.

While the equally weighted index EGX50 slipped 0.65 percent, or 18.16 points, to reach 2,764.27 points, and the small and mid-cap index EGX70 declined 0.31 percent, or 2.49 points, to close at 810 points.

Market capitalization gained LE 86.46 million, recording LE 915.01 billion, compared to LE 914.92 billion in Sunday’s session.

The trading volume reached 212.87 million shares, traded through 24,538 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.02 billion.

Egyptian investors were net sellers at LE 78.43 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 30.55 million and LE 47.87 million, respectively.

Foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 21.6 million, while Egyptian and Arab individuals were net sellers at LE 27.72 million, and LE 2.19 million, respectively.

Arab and foreign organizations bought at LE 32.74 million and LE 26.27 million, respectively, while Egyptian organizations sold at LE 50.7 million.

Wadi Kom Ombo Land Reclamation, Atlas for Land Reclamation and Agricultural Processing, and Eastern Company were top gainers of the session by 9.97 percent, 8.18 percent and 5.79 percent, respectively.

On the other hand, El Kahera Housing, Reacap Financial Investments, and Mena Touristic & Real Estate Investment were top losers of the session by 8.82 percent, 8.16 percent and 5.58 percent, respectively.

The EGX ended Sunday’s session in green, as EGX30 rose 0.30 percent, EGX50 climbed 0.31 percent, EGX70 jumped 0.14 percent, and EGX100 hiked 0.10 percent.
