EGX ends Sunday in green for 2nd consecutive session

CAIRO – 24 June 2018: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday in green for the second consecutive session, adding LE 185.01 million of to its market capitalization, amid Arab purchases.

The benchmark EGX30 rose 0.30 percent, or 49.25 points, to close at 16,395.02 points.
The equally weighted index EGX50 increased 0.31 percent, or 8.62 points, to reach 2,782.43 points.

Moreover, the small and mid-cap index EGX70 jumped 0.14 percent, or 1.13 points, to close at 812.49 points, and the broader index EGX100 climbed 0.10 percent, or 2.05 points, closing at 2,064.85 points.

Market capitalization gained LE 185.01 million, recording LE 914.92 billion, compared to LE 914.74 billion in Thursday’s session.

The trading volume reached 182.19 million shares, traded through 21,981 transactions, with a turnover of LE 788.68 million.

Arab investors were net buyers at LE 31.2 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 8.17 million and LE 23.03 million, respectively.

Arab individuals were net buyers at LE 3.32 million, while Egyptian and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 17.69 million, and LE 20.79 million, respectively.

Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 9.52 million and LE 27.88 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 2.24 million.

Wadi Kom Ombo Land Reclamation, Ismailia National Food Industries, and Cairo Poultry were top gainers of the session by 9.96 percent, 9.38 percent and 8.05 percent, respectively.

On the other hand, EL Ezz Aldekhela Steel - Alexandria, Modern Company for water proofing (Bitumode), and Credit Agricole Egypt were top losers of the session by 3.75 percent, 3.36 percent and 3.31 percent, respectively.

The EGX ended Thursday’s session in green, as EGX30 rose 1.25 percent, EGX50 climbed 1.15 percent, EGX70 jumped 1.22 percent, and EGX100 hiked 1.24 percent.
