CAIRO - 13 June 2018: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi has stressed the importance of taking all needed measures to improve Egypt's economic indices and maintain its monetary stability.

During a meeting with Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Tareq Amer on Wednesday, the president called for providing all funds needed to reinforce social protection networks in Egypt to alleviate the burden on low-income brackets, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said.

Amer, meanwhile, reviewed Egypt's overall economic performance and shed light on the policies adopted by the CBE to give a push to the Egyptian economy.

He stressed the CBE's keenness on making radical changes to the structure of Egypt's economic growth through adopting a number of urgent policies and procedures.

Such procedures aim at boosting Egypt's economy and achieving a high record of foreign exchange reserves, Amer noted.

"About 17 million clients are now dealing with banks and postal offices nationwide," he said, adding that a plan is underway to increase the number of clients through adopting new legislative procedures and services at banks.
