CAIRO - 3 June 2018: Central Bank of Egypt said in its monthly report that the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and the world countries increased during the first half of the current fiscal year 2017/2018 to reach $42.8 billion, $30.8 billion of which are imports and $12 billion exports, compared to $39.8 billion during the same period of fiscal year 2016/2017, including $29.4 billion imports and $10.4 billion exports.

The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and its most important trading partners, amounting to 14 countries who account for 60% of the total trade volume, reached $28.7 billion during the first half of the current fiscal year, compared to $22.5 billion during the same period of 2016/2017, according to the report.

The report showed that the volume of Egyptian exports to the most important trading companies rose in the first half of fiscal year 2017/2018 to reach $12 billion, compared with $10.4 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year, while the volume of imports increased to reach $30.8 billion in the first half of 2017/2018, compared to $29.4 billion in the same period of the last year.

In addition, the report underlined that the UAE ranked first in terms of the most important trading partners to Egypt, as the volume of trade exchange in the first half of the current fiscal year reached $3 billion, $1.84 billion of which are imports, and $1.17 billion exports.
