CAIRO – 3 April 2018: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) decided that Sunday April 8 and Monday April 9 will be official holidays as they coincide with Easter and Sham el-Nessim.

The market will resume trading on Tuesday April 10, according to an official statement issued on Tuesday.

Sham el-Nessim is an Egyptian national holiday which marks the beginning of spring and it’s celebrated by all Egyptians.

While Easter is a Christian feast that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Easter concludes a 55-day period of fasting for Copts.

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday's session on a mixed note as EGX30 rose 0.50 percent, EGX50 increased 0.61 percent, and EGX70 jumped 0.10 percent, while EGX100 declined 0.23 percent.

Mubasher Trade raised the price target for the benchmark of the Egyptian Exchange EGX30 to 17,700 with an increase of 6.6 percent, a recent report remarked.
