Sisi expresses keenness on increasing investments of GE firm in Egypt

CAIRO - 16 March 2018: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi met Thursday with Chairman and CEO of General Electric (GE) Company John Flannery in the presence of Electricity and Renewable Energy Minister Mohamed Shaker and the acting head of Egypt's General Intelligence Service.

Sisi pointed out to the good international reputation of GE firm besides its long experience in the Egyptian market and its unique activity in various fields, said presidential spokesman Bassam Rady.

During the meeting, the president reviewed the economic reform measures taken to provide an investment-friendly atmosphere and push forward the development efforts in various domains.

He further expressed keenness on increasing the company's investments in Egypt during the coming phase for the welfare of the two sides in light of the various promising investment opportunities provided by the national mega projects.

For his part, Flannery said that the company looks forward to enhancing joint cooperation during the coming phase and maximize the benefit from the offered investment opportunities in various sectors.

He asserted the firm's commitment to implementing its ventures in Egypt in line with high quality standards and set schedule.

The get-together took up also future plans of the company in the country, Rady reiterated.
