Cityscape conference launches its 2nd day

CAIRO – 13 March 2018: The seventh annual Cityscape Egypt Conference has launched the events of its second day in the presence and participation of a number of businessmen, developers and representatives of companies operating in the real estate sector.

The events of the conference’s first day witnessed extensive discussions on a number of issues relating to the sector and the real estate market, with the participation of businessman Hesham Talaat Mustafa, Chairman of Talaat Moustafa Group for Real Estate Investment and Urban Development.

Mustafa affirmed that his group will invest LE 14 billion in 2018, adding that the interest rate cut in banks will have an effect on the prices of the group’s units.

He clarified that the interest rate cut will contribute to providing housing units that are appropriate with citizens’ income.

Talaat Mustafa Group Holding (TMG Holding) announced Tuesday that the expected investment in the company’s project in the New Administrative Capital on a land of 50 feddans is worth LE 35 billion, according to a filing to the Egyptian Exchange (EGX).

Assistant Minister of Housing for Technical Affairs Khaled Abbas, highlighted Monday in his keynote speech that development is no longer limited to Greater Cairo, but instead it has moved to the governorates of New Al-Alamein, New Al-Mansoura, West Qena and West Assiut.

Development outside Cairo is a major tenet of the government’s Urban Development Plan 2052, which looks to increase the area seven to 12 percent, according to cityscape’s press release.

Abbas added that the government is currently evaluating the second phase of financial public-private partnerships (PPPs) offers and the third phase of the partnership projects will be decided by the end of this month or at the beginning of next month.

The Cityscape Egypt Conference is held on March 12 and 13, gathering over 250 top level industry professionals under one roof to exchange knowledge, information, trends and business opportunities.
