CAIRO - 24 February 2018: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met Saturday with a delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (AmCham), which will take part in a door-knocking mission to Washington in the coming period, foreign ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.

The foreign minister is keen to meet with the AmCham delegation members every year ahead of their periodic visits to the US in order to discuss means of boosting Cairo-Washington relations, Abu Zeid said in a statement.

The annual meetings also aim to upgrade trade exchange in a way that serves the interests of the two peoples.

Today’s talks touched on the outcome of the recent visits made by the US senior officials to Egypt, including the latest visits of US Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to Cairo.

Shoukry also reviewed Egypt’s stance towards the various regional and international issues of mutual interest, said the spokesman.
