CAIRO – 22 January 2018: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday in red, for the second consecutive session.
Benchmark EGX30 slipped 0.63 percent losing 96.68 points to stand at 15,243.23 points.
The equally weighted EGX50 lost 18.1 points, or 0.66 percent to close at 2727.03 points.
The small and mid-cap index EGX70 decreased 1.17 percent, or 9.9 points, to end at 838.15 points and the broader index EGX100 also went back down 0.54 percent, or 10.91 points, to close at 2012.96 points.
Market capitalization dropped around LE 3.49 billion as it recorded LE 862.558 billion, down from LE 866.051 billion on Thursday’s session.
Foreign and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 43.91 million and LE 38.62 million, respectively. Meanwhile, Egyptian investors were net sellers at LE 82.53 million.
Top gainers of the session were National Bank of Kuwait - Egypt (NBKE) by 6.44 percent, Ibnsina Pharma (ISPH) by 5.82 percent, and El Nasr Transformers and Electrical Products Co SAE (NASR) by 5.82 percent.
While Top losers of the session were: Alexandria Medical Services - Alexandria New Medical Center SAE (AMES) by 9.97 percent, El Nasr for Manufacturing Agricultural Crops SAE (ELNA)by 6.48 percent, and Egypt Gas (EGAS)by 6 percent.
