CAIRO – 3 January 2018: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended its transactions Wednesday in red, with benchmark index EGX30 going down 1.26 percent to stand at 14,833 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 decreased 0.12 percent to end at 834.3 points and the broader index EGX100 also leveled down 0.39 percent to close at 1,947 points.

Market capitalization gained LE 24 million as it recorded LE 828.959 billion, up from LE 828.935 billion at the end of transactions on Tuesday.

Arab and Egyptian individuals in addition to Egyptian institutions were net seller at LE 3.8 million, LE 5.9 million and LE 51.4 million. Meanwhile, foreign individuals in addition to Arab and Egyptian organizations purchased at LE 2.7 million, LE 21.2 million and LE 37.3 million respectively.

Shares of 61 companies recorded increases, while 76 others saw declines, while, shares of 46 firms remained unchanged.
