EGX ends on mixed note for 2nd day, benchmark loses 1.4%

CAIRO – 5 April 2017: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) extended its mixed performance during Thursday’s trading session.

The benchmark index EGX30 dipped 1.44 percent to end at 13,098 points, down from 13,290 points Wednesday. CIB, the heaviest weight stock on the gauge dropped 1.6 percent to close at 78 EGP ($4.33) per share, down from 79.24 EGP in the previous session.

On the other hand, the small and mid-cap index EGX70 rose 0.74 percent, closing at 587 points. Also, the broader index EGX100 added a slight 0.23 percent to end at 1,353 points.

Market capitalization gained about 2.3 billion EGP ($127.8 million,) totaling 664.3 billion EGP. Total turnover amounted to 897 million EGP.
