CAIRO - 13 December 2017: US Agency for International Development (USAID) in Egypt and the American University in Cairo announced the start of a project to establish 20 university centers for vocational development to provide the Egyptian students with training in the fields of leadership, entrepreneur and vocational communication and qualify them to enter the work market.

The launching ceremony was attended by representatives of the ministries of higher education, education and investment and international cooperation along with representatives of 10 Egyptian universities from all over Egypt, the US embassy in Cairo said on Wednesday.

The centers aim at achieving communication between the students of the Egyptian universities and private sector to increase the work opportunities and the vocational training presented to the graduates of the Egyptian universities.

Director of the USAID mission in Egypt Sherry Carlin said that the centers would serve more than 70% of the students of the Egyptian governmental universities.

Carlin said that these centers represent a part of the commitment of the USAID towards creating job opportunities to the Egyptian youth.
