EGX extends gains, Ibnsina ends at 16% up on 1st trading day

CAIRO – 12 December 2017: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended its transactions Tuesday in green for the third consecutive day this week.

Benchmark index EGX30 went up 1.13 percent to stand at 14,590 points. The small and mid-cap index EGX70 increased 0.50 percent to end at 789.03 points and the broader index EGX100 leveled up 0.89 percent to close at 1,864 points.

The shares of Ibnsina Pharma, which started trading on the EGX Tuesday, increased 16.03% at LE 6.73 per share. The trading volume on shares registered LE 357.5 million at 53.1 million securities traded in 4.694 transactions.

Market capitalization gained LE 7.8 billion as it recorded LE 813.07 billion, up from LE 805.307 billion at the end of transactions Monday.

Egyptian, Arab and foreign individuals as well as Arab institutions sold at LE 151.2 million, LE 41.6 million, LE 31.3 million and LE 53.9 million respectively, meanwhile Egyptian and foreign institutions were net buyers at LE 93.2 million and LE 184.8 million respectively.

Shares of 112 companies recorded increases, while 53 others saw declines, while, shares of 26 firms remained unchanged.
