African investors are invited to prioritize investments in Africa

CAIRO – 8 December 2017: Egypt’s Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr has called upon African investors to prioritize investment in Africa, saying that African states have recently applied economic reform programs that boosted growth and improved investment climate, paving the way for more private sector investment.

During her speech at the Africa 2017 Forum, she stressed on the importance of cooperation between African states and boosting investment within the continent for job creation.

Nasr said that President Abdel-Fatah al-Sisi is keen on cooperation with Africa and that he directed the government to enhance all kinds of cooperation across developmental, social and economic fields.

She also referred to the steps that Egypt has taken to boost the competitiveness of the economy and improve the business climate through executing developmental projects and legislative reform.

Nasr added that a regional center for entrepreneurs will be set up in Egypt that could help cooperation between African states. She also called upon financial institutions and regional and global funds to help the countries in implementing their own development plans as well as focusing on joint regional projects.
