Transport Minister Hisham Arafat meets with Canadian Ambassador to Egypt Jess Dutton‏ on Monday, Cairo - Egypt Today

CAIRO – 30 October 2017: Transport Minister Hisham Arafat on Monday discussed with Canadian Ambassador to Egypt Jess Dutton‏ cooperation in the fields of railways, maritime transport and subways.

The Transport Ministry attaches great importance to the renovation of the railway system, the minister stressed, pointing out to the underway amendments to the law of the Egyptian Railways Authority (ERA) with a view to allowing partnership with the private sector.

Arafat called on the Canadian companies to invest in Egypt's transport sector, highlighting the soft funding offers provided by the government with competitive prices.

The ambassador, for his part, asserted his country's keenness on fostering cooperation with Egypt during the coming period.
