CAIRO– 27 September 2017: The Egyptian government is committed to providing job opportunities for youth through cooperation with Egypt's development partners, the investment and international cooperation minister said.

Delivering the closing statement at the Geneva-hosted Youth and Employment in North Africa Conference, Sahar Nasr said her ministry has launched an initiative in cooperation with EFG Hermes and the UN Development Program (UNDP) to make use of youth's ideas and provide an appropriate environment for young entrepreneurs.

"So far, the ministry has received over 2,500 ideas from the youth," the minister said, adding that the door will remain open until the end of this month.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is a strong supporter of the youth and has launched many initiates to improve their capabilities, she noted.

A conference will be held in November under the patronage of President Sisi with the participation of Arab and foreign leaders to discuss youth issues, she noted.
