Egypt purchases 295,000 tonnes of wheat in tender

CAIRO – 29 August 2017: Egypt’s state grain buyer General Authority for Supply and Commodities (GASC) GASC said on Tuesday it had bought 295,000 tonnes of wheat in an international tender.

Of the total, it bought 235,000 tons of Russian wheat and 60,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat, GASC said.

GASC did not give a further breakdown of the purchase.

Traders said it involved:

- 60,000 ton of Russian wheat from Daewoo at $186.00 a ton FOB and $14.40 a ton freight, equating to $200.40 a ton C&F
- 60,000 ton of Ukrainian wheat from Louis Dreyfus at $187.00 a ton FOB and $14.96 a ton freight, equating to $201.96 a ton C&F
- 55,000 ton of Russian wheat from GTCS at $187.00 a ton FOB and $15.26 a ton freight, equating to $202.26 a ton C&F
- 120,000 tons of Russian wheat from GTCS at $187.50 a tons FOB and $14.63 a tons freight, equating to $202.13 a ton C&F
