CAIRO - 23 August 2017: The state-affiliated Industrial Modernization Center (IMC) asked members of the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) to take part in preparations of the 2020 World Expo in Dubai, Head of the IMC Ahmed Taha said on Wednesday.

Egyptian companies, who are willing to participate in construction and supply works of the expo, have to send letters to the expo organizers to register their requests.

“The participation will allow companies to benefit from a huge market with massive opportunities,” Taha said, highlighting that the IMC’s request came responding to demands made by the Ministry of Industry.

In November 2013, the United Arab Emirates had won the right to host the expo, becoming the first Middle Eastern host of the event.

The world expo is held every five years, allowing participants to showcase their products, science and culture. Expected to flourish Dubai’s commercial sector, the expo is estimated to result in €28.8 billion economic boost for the emirate and to create 277,000 job opportunities.
