CAIRO – 13 July 2017: Minister of Industry Tarek Kabil inaugurated Thursday two factories for polyesters and raw material fabrics in Beni Suef, with LE 200 million ($11.1 million) in investments by Korea.

The two factories, located in Kom Abu Rady industrial complex, will create 340 job opportunities, Kabil said in a statement.

During a tour in Beni Suef governorate in Upper Egypt to open a number of projects, Kabil laid the foundation stone of an industrial complex for home appliances, with LE 2.4 billion in investments.

Beni Suef encompasses three industrial complexes, spread over 5,130 feddans. The value of budget set for Beni Suef facilities projects in these complexes is LE 723 million.

Kom Abu Rady has 188 factories and an investment value of LE 5.4 billion, in the sectors of food, chemicals, engineering, mining, wood, paper and textile fields.

Saudi Arabia, Syria, Korea and China are shaping 20 percent of investment in this industrial area.

Beni Suef governorate has 550 projects with LE 18 billion in investments, which created over 66,000 job opportunities.
