CAIRO - 22 June 2017: Al Jazeera broadcasts programs that promote anti-Americanism and radicalism, while its owners in Doha finance think tanks in Washington, David Pollack, Kaufman Fellow at The Washington Institute said Thursday.

“I am very familiar with Al Jazeera and its policy… Al Jazeera show ‘Al-Sharia and Al-Hayat’ and its promotion of radicalism represents what Al Jazeera is today,” Pollack said in a Washington press conference on Qatar’s role on supporting terror, along with two former Al Jazeera journalists and a Washington Institute fellow.

“It is well known that the Qatari money has contributed to some think tanks in Washington, including Brookings Institution, and they have now their own think tank called the Arab Center for Study,” added Pollack, who specializes in regional political dynamics and related issues.

Pollack also said that 25 percent of content published at Al Jazeera defends the network, emphasizing that Al Jazeera “was never and still not free, [and it is] no longer the most viewed channel in [the] Arab region.”

Al Jazeera broadcasts material that incites violence and terrorism, and only a small segment of Arab viewers trust it, he continued.
