CAIRO – 19 June 2017: Following a wave of terrorist attacks in the U.K. in recent months, the British Prime Minister Theresa May lost her overall majority in the general elections.

In an interview with BBC, commentator and former Kremlin adviser Alexander Nekrassov said, “Unfortunately her weakness was in dealing with terrorist attacks because she was a former home secretary; she was actually in charge of dealing with terrorism for six years.”

Nekrassov added that the Russians have been warning the West, and Britain as well, for many years after the church conflict started.

He further stressed that the danger of Islamic terrorism is spreading quickly, while nobody paid any attention.

On June 5, former senior aide to the last Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron, in this regard said, “The Prime Minister should resign over her alleged failure to prevent the London Bridge terror attack.”

Former Downing Street director of Strategy, Steve Hilton, also criticized how May dealt with terror attacks in the U.K., as he tweeted, “Theresa May responsible for security failures of London Bridge, Manchester, Westminster Bridge. Should be resigning not seeking re-election.”

“Russia was dealing with the threat in a sense that it was banning the NGOs that help finance terrorist activities, it also banned charity, which here [in the West] prosper, just look at them, they are collecting money, and then fund organizations like the Muslim Brotherhood,” Nekrassov stressed.

Nekrassov added that May and the British police did not respond well to the terrorist attacks “in the PR sense.” He criticized official speeches following the Manchester attack, as he cited as an example, saying it was a “devastating” act, however, saying that the British government will not tolerate “hate crimes.” He said it is a fair point, but not at that time, for this is deemed offensive to the people.

“I am serious about adopting serious strategies against terrorism, you just had a major conflict… Arab countries have just turned against Qatar for supporting terrorism, and this shows to us that the Western governments do not have a national security policy.”

The Islamic State terrorist group claimed responsibility for the Ariana Grande concert bombing in Manchester, England, last month that killed at least 22 people and wounded dozens others.
