BERN, 26 October 2019: Chairman of the Egypt Post Essam el Saghir on Friday discussed at a meeting with Director General of Gambia Postal Services Corporation (GAMPOST) Foday Jaiteh means of boosting bilateral cooperation in postal services.

The meeting was held on the fringe of the Switzerland-based Universal Postal Union (UPU) congress.

The two sides signed a cooperation protocol in the field of e-commerce, with a view to enabling GAMPOST clients to do online shopping from the US, the UK and China, through the Cairo logistics center.

In a statement, Saghir said the protocol aims to foster cooperation between Egypt Post and GAMPOST, noting that the logistics center at Cairo airport will be used for collecting items from the US, the UK and China and freight them to Gambia.

On his part, Jaiteh praised the cooperation protocol with Egypt Post, saying the GAMPOST looks forward to making good use of Egypt's expertise with regard to automating postal services and the application of financial inclusion.
