SHARM EL SHEIKH, Egypt - Oct 25: Egypt won the presidency of the Bureau of the African Union (AU) Specialized Technical Committee (STC) on Communication and ICT from 2019 to 2021.

This occurred during the activities of the conference of African communication ministers that kicked off on Friday by Egyptian Communications Minister Amr Talaat.

Burundi, Malawi and Sirloin were elected as members of the committee’s bureau in its new session.

The conference is held as part of the meetings of the Third Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Specialized Committee (STC) on Communication and Information Technology (ICT) in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm el Sheikh from October 22 to 26.

The conference brought together representatives from 37 African states, with 11 communication ministers participating.

The Third Ordinary Session of the AU Specialized Committee (STC) on Communication and Information Technology (ICT) opened on October 22 in Sharm El Sheikh, with a strong call on member countries and the AU to build consensus on integrated connectivity roadmap, establish a continental cyber security guard and elaborate efficient communication strategies to bring the African Union closer to the African people, among others.
