CAIRO - 3 July 2019: Egyptian Ambassador in Washington Yasser Reda said Tuesday President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi gives a high priority to providing funds for Africa's infrastructure development as the biggest challenge facing the continent's ambitions.

It is important for all international partners to mobilize efforts to provide the necessary financing for infrastructure projects in Africa, which will increase its capacity to promote trade with the various international parties and to achieve the economic interests of all parties, the ambassador added in a speech to a seminar hosted by the Egyptian Embassy in Washington on how to promote the infrastructure, investment and trade in Africa.

Reda detailed the priorities of the Egyptian 2019 presidency of the African Union (AU) in trade and economic fields, highlighting the entry into force of the free trade agreement, expected to be launched at the Niamey Summit in July.

He also reviewed the latest developments in African joint action related to the development of infrastructure in the continent, as an indispensable pillar to achieve the AU Agenda 2063.
