CAIRO, May 25 (MENA) - The two Arab and Gulf summits set to be held in Mecca later in May offer a better chance for closer dialogue among Arab leaders on the issues of Arab action, as well as addressing means of overcoming challenges facing Arab countries, Head of the House of Representatives committee for Arab affairs Ahmed Raslan said on Saturday.

The summits are being held at a crucial time in the wake of the sabotage attacks that targeted ships off the UAE coast and Saudi oil facilities, Raslan said, noting that the swift response of Arab leaders to the call for convening the summits underscores their firm desire to maintain stability in the region against attempts to interfere in its affairs and subsequently harm its interests.

Through upholding coordination, joint Arab action and unity among Arab countries, challenges and plots facing the region can be confronted, he added, expressing trust that the two summits would be successful.
