CAIRO – 12 March 2019: A number of educational experts called for the need to raise youth's awareness on their national identity to create a generation committed to preserving the stability of the country and the region.

This came after President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi's speech at the Cultural Symposium of the Armed Forces, in which he stressed that youth must be aware of the events that have taken place since January 2011.

The president asserted that parents should advise their children not to tamper with the security of the country.

Professor of political and military sociology Huda Zakaria stressed that families are responsible for instilling the values of loyalty and belonging in their children.

"National identity is now at risk due to the multiplicity of the sources of information which affects the awareness of young people and threatens the safety of our children given the dangerous rumors and false news that spread through social media. "

Zakaria also noted that the government should raise people's awareness through media, schools and family.

Professor of sociology Samih Khader Also stressed the need to establish educational seminars to raise people's awareness of the role played by the police and army; he also highlighted the significance of the national cinema and songs.
