President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi changes shoulder marks for Chairman of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Kamel Al-Wazir after he had promoted him to Lieutenant General from Major General during the celebration held in the occasion of ‘Martyr Day’ marki

CAIRO - 10 March 2019: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi promoted on Sunday Chairman of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Kamel Al-Wazir to Lieutenant General from Major General during the celebration held on the occasion of ‘Martyr Day’ marking March 9.

The House of Representatives members approved in Sunday's plenary session the nomination of Kamel al-Wazir as Minister of Transportation to succeed Hesham Arafat who resigned in the aftermath of Cairo Railway Station blaze.

Wazir asked the president to say few words. “I thank God for his generosity and blessings embodied in good health, good living conditions, and success. I thank my brother, friend, leader, and instructor President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi for his backing and support. I will say a lot about that great man in my diaries by the end of my service,” Wazir said.

“I know a lot about him. Things that you do not know about. I am talking about his work style, the method he manages work, and his love for his country,” Wazir elaborated.



“I thank our Armed Forces, our great army, its chief, General Mohamed Zaki, the General Commander of the Armed Forces and the Minister of Defense and Military Production, and Lieutenant General Mohamed Farid, the chief of staff, who is my elder brother and friend. I thank all my colleagues, commanders, officers, and soldiers, at the Armed Forces Engineering Authority,” Wazir added.

Wazir thanked national firms and all Egyptians who have been involved in mega projects as partners to the Armed Forces Engineering Authority.

Finally, Wazir called upon the employees of the Railway Authority to improve themselves as he had pledged to revamp all transportation facilities in Egypt.
