CAIRO - 29 January 2019: Indian Ambassador to Egypt Rahul Kulshreshth stated on Monday that the size of trade exchange between Egypt and India had recorded more than $3 billion, and that the number of Indian companies in Egypt was 50.

The Indian embassy in Cairo celebrated the 70th Republic Day, and invited Egyptian diplomats, officials, and journalists.

The ambassador said that his country looks forward to work with Egypt during its leadership of the African Union (AU) stressing that Egyptian-Indian relations are strong and historic.

Kulshreshth highlighted both visits held by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi to India, and his meetings with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of international conferences.

Both leaders have been coordinating matters of mutual interest, and that has boosted cooperation between Egypt and India, the ambassador said.

The ambassador added that reciprocal visits by senior officials of both countries, and further cooperation and communication between business men are expected to happen this year.
