CAIRO – 29 December 2018: A blast that killed three tourists and an Egyptian tour guide on a bus in Giza on Friday has triggered strong condemnations on local and international levels, asserting support for Egypt’s security after the “heinous” attack.

The US State Department offered condolences to the families of the killed tourists, and wished a speed recovery for the injured in a statement published on Twitter. The US State Department deputy spokesman Robert Palladino assured America’s support to Egypt in its war against terrorism.




On his twitter account, the British Ambassador in Cairo Geoffrey Adams expressed his country's support for Egypt following a bus blast in Giza.





Spain and Belgium also sent official condemnations to the attack, offering condolences and support to the victims and their families.




Riyadh re-affirmed solidarity with Egypt in addressing all forms of violence, terrorism and extremism, according to a statement quoting an official source. The source also expressed condolences to families of the victims, as well as the
Earlier, Kuwait's emir sent a cable of condolences to President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi over the attack.

The Bahraini Foreign Ministry also expressed its deep-felt condolences and consolation to the families and relatives of the victims of this heinous terrorist crime, a statement quoted by the country's official news agency read.

"The ministry reiterates the Kingdom's steadfast stance in renunciation of terrorism and stresses the need for concerted efforts to eradicate this dangerous phenomenon," the ministry said in a statement.

Following the attack, parliamentarians, religious figures and politicians have denounced the attack, saying that the “traitorous” perpetrators targeted the tourism sector that was recovering thanks to security measures.

The parliament's speaker Ali Abdel Aal called for fighting terrorism with "an iron fist". He asserted that such heinous criminal acts are only meant to undermine Egypt's security and stability.

Nation's Future Party leader Ashraf Rashad denounced the terrorist act, stressing that his party suppors all national institutions in the fight against terrorism.

In a statement, Al-Azhar University President Mohamed el-Mahrasawy termed as malicious such crimes, asserting that Egypt will be always safe and stable, thanks to the the awareness of its national leadership, army and police.

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi is closely following all of Marioteya bus terrorist attack updates along with the ministers and security bodies according to Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Friday.

Commenting on the terrorist attack that killed two Vietnamese tourists and injured ten others, Madbouly said that the tourist bus drove away of the police forces that were supposed to secure its path.

He affirmed that the government has been communicating with the Vietnamese embassy in Egypt to keep it updated with all the needed information.

Madbouly said that terrorism is a real threat to the entire world; however it’s important to control it by taking all needed security measures. He affirmed that the government is providing the injured all the needed medical care.

“Egypt will firmly face anyone tries to violate the country’s security” Madbouly affirmed.
