CAIRO – 23 December 2018: Prominent Palestinian politician Mohammed Dahlan said that Egypt, under President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi's rule, is working for the good and unity of the Palestinian people.

In an interview with the London-based al-Arab, Dahlan, a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council, added that Egypt's noble efforts, however, have faced with many obstacles and prohibitive conditions.

Dahlansaid that the one-state solution is not optional, but will be dictated by developments, and will be a normal result of Israeli policies, unless Israel withdraws to the 1967 borders, or continues extremism and racism. He added that Palestine will have then to face the despicable racist model that existed in South Africa in the last century.

On the American "Deal of the Century" solution, Dahlanreferred thatthe US will not put a paper or an initiative on the table until it is drafted and fully scrutinized with the Israeli government. The so-called American deal will be an Israeli deal in fact and will be part of Israel's geographical, political, and security plan, Dahlanexplained.

The National and Islamic Forces' Commission in Gaza Strip welcomed in November the Egyptian efforts to achieve a national partnership among all Palestinian factions.

The commission called for the continuation of the Egyptian side's endeavors to end the intra-Palestinian rift and fulfill the Palestinian reconciliation.

The Palestinian commission urged Cairo to host a meeting for all the concerned parties so as to directly implement the necessary mechanisms to achieve unity and partnership.
