CAIRO – 12 November 2018: “Do not use social media negatively; rather use it in construction and development,” Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs, Nabila Makram, said.

In a statement issued Monday, Makram added “Cocial media and communication development make Egyptians abroad nearer to their country.” Moreover, Makram assured that we will all lose if we do not use social media as a bridge to communicate and a way to deepen relationships among peoples.

Makram further referred during World Youth Forum held under the patronage of Egyptian president Abdel fatah al-Sisi that all citizens have the right to express their opinions.

The World Youth Forum kicked off on Friday, November 2. The actual discussion sessions started on November 4, where participants discussed a number of issues, including differences among cultures and civilizations, the role of world leaders in building and sustaining peace, the role of soft power in countering ideological extremism and terrorism.

The forum's closing session and the announcement of the World Youth Forum 2018's recommendations took place on Nov. 6.
