CAIRO – 2 October 2018: Minister of Education and Technical Education’s marketing aide, Yousra Allam, said that the initiative launched by Minister of Education Dr Tarek Shawky titled, ‘Diverse Capabilities’ during the opening session of the first Arab forum for people with special needs on Monday will begin its activities with the aim of raising awarness on the rights of students with special needs for four to six weeks. The forum was attended by President Abel Fatah al-Sisi.

The initiative aims to familiarise students with their rights and the benefits that they can get from the recent ministerial decree.



The campaign will also target parents and different segments of the community, helping them to identify the rights and duties of students and ways of dealing with them through media communication and schools, said Allam in a statement to Egypt Today.

Regarding building special education centres for children with special needs, Allam assured that they are working on it and that the first is set to be built in the city of the 6th of October. It is expected that they will establish many other centers in different governorates.

The centers are also meant to raise awareness on people with special needs.
