CAIRO – 5 August 2018: Qatari poet and activist Latifa al-Mosaifri said Qatari forces broke into her house in the middle of the night and kidnapped her and her daughter for interrogation.

The audio clip was broadcast by anchor Ahmed Moussa on his night-time TV program on Sada El-Balad channel on Saturday.

“Qatari security forces broke into my house in the middle of the night, three people approached me while I was talking on my phone and a woman snatched the phone with an exaggrated force and the other two kiddnapped me and my daughter and threw me in a white SUV,… then I heard a guy with an Indian accent talking about meeting with a minister, so I thought it is a chance to talk to him about the suffering of a lot of Qatari citizens, but when I got there, I found myself surrounded by officers who kept asking me ridicuouls questions, slamming on the table, shouting and asking me about my relations with some opposition figures and I told them that they’d just to prove whatever I am accused of, and since you said you’ve been watching me for two years, so you would know my every move.”

Moussa praised the Qatari activist for her courage and slammed the Qatari Emir Tamim Bin Hamad for suppressing his opponents who only seek justice for the poor and oppressed.

About a year ago, Qatar was hit by its biggest diplomatic crisis after multiple Arab nations, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain cut ties with Qatar, accusing it of destabilizing the region with its support to terrorism and terrorist organizations and having close ties with regional foe Iran.
