CAIRO – 22 January 2018: Support Egypt Coalition headed by Mohamed Zaki El Sewedy held a public conference in Kafr El Sheikh Governorate to support President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi in the upcoming presidential elections.

El Sewedy said in an official statement from the coalition that Sisi is the only president who took responsibility for giving subsidies to those who deserve it; confirming that the coalition is supporting the president for another period to continue with the projects that are underway and building the country.

The meeting was attended by honorary president of the coalition and Member of Parliament Saad al-Jamal, Secretary General of the coalition MP Majdi Morshed, Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh Major General Sayyed Nasr, Governor of Al-Gharbia Major General Ahmed Deif, Governor of Dakahlia Aziz Hamouda, and MP Abdelhamid Al-Demerdash.

Sisi, the sixth president of Egypt, swept the 2014 presidential elections with an approximate 97 percent majority of votes, following the June 30 revolution that toppled Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated President Mohamed Morsi in 2013. Sisi’s popularity emerged when millions answered his call to take to the streets and grant him a “mandate to fight terrorism” in July 2013.

The National Election Authority (NEA) opened its doors for hopeful candidates to present their candidacy documents on Saturday, but no one has applied yet for the presidential race that is set to be held on March 26, according to the authority’s deputy head, Mahmoud el-Sherif, on Saturday.
