CAIRO – 4 November 2017: Former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri was the victim of an assassination attempt in Beirut, Al Arabia TV revealed Saturday.

This came after al-Hariri surprise announcement of his resignation from the post, on Saturday, revealing that there are hidden conspiracies to assassinate him, in referral to Iran’s hegemony in Lebanon.

Al-Hariri launched an attack on Iran and its military in Lebanon, Hezbollah, claiming that they seek seditions and destruction to the Arab region, confirming that Hezbollah interferes in the domestic affairs of the Arab states.

‘During the last decades, Hezbollah could impose a fait accompli in Lebanon by force which fights our brothers in Syria, Yemen, and Lebanon instead of our enemies,’ Hariri said in his televised speech to the nation.

Saad, who was chosen as Lebanese Prime Minister in December 2016, is the son of popular late Prime Minister Rafic Hariri, who had been assassinated in Beirut in 2004.

“We cannot accept that Hezbollah’s weapons are directed against the Lebanese and the Syrian peoples,” he said, adding, “The evil that Iran sends to the region will come back at it... Iran's hands in the region will be cut off.”
