Chairman of Jordan's Joint Chiefs meets US defense secretary

AMMAN - 21 August 2017: Chairman of Jordan's Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. General Mahmoud Abdul Halim Freihat on Sunday received US Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis, who arrived in Amman earlier in the day on a several days' visit.

The meeting is being held at Marka Military Airport, a statement by the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces said.

The meeting is dealing with several issues of common concern, the statement added.
