CAIRO – 19 August 2017: In a series of tweets, Editor-in-Chief of Kuwaiti newspaper, Siyassa, Ahmed Al Gar Allah launched an onslaught against the Qatari regime on Friday.

“The Gulf Cooperation Council is what saved Kuwait from the Iraqi invasion and saved Bahrain from the Iranian invasion. We won’t sacrifice our assembly for Qatar; It is the one who loses us, not vice versa,” Al Gar said.

Gar Allah also said the Qatari foreign minister’s latest statement that further pushes Kuwait to carry on its mediation in the crisis as “a good thing,” however, he argues that he has to stop propagating against the GCC.

Gar Allah said that the region will witness the emergence of a "government in exile" as an inevitable result to the regime's corrupt administration (in reference to Qatar's regime).

Shortly after the Arab boycott of Qatar was announced on June 5, Kuwait has asserted itself as the crisis-mediator.

Gar Allah also praised Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali Al-Thani’s plea to the Saudi Arabian authorities to reopen Salwa border crossing to help Qatari pilgrims enter the kingdom to perform hajj, implying that he is the only Qatari official that has a feel for the suffering of the Qatari people inflicted on them due to the Arab-Qatar spat.

The decision to reopen the border and dispatch an aircraft to Doha was submitted to the king by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who earlier met Qatari Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali Al-Thani at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah.
