Iran discloses secret deals with Qatar against Arab countries

CAIRO – 15 August 2017: After two months of open confrontation between Arab anti-terror quartet and Qatari regime, the main sponsor of terrorism in the Middle East, a number of Iranian officials claimed conspiracies by Qatar in coordination with Iran against Arab countries.

In addition to Qatar’s suspicious role in Syria, Iraq and Libya - supporting terrorist entity including outlawed Muslim Brotherhood, Al-Qaeda and Taliban organizations - Iranian officials disclosed secret deals done between Doha and Tehran along the few recent years targeting destabilizing Arab and Gulf countries' stability.

Suspicious relations between Qatar and Iran have been extended since the former Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani then his son Emir Tamim and have been confirmed by security deals with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

Egypt Today is grouping different claims of Iranian officials on Qatar's treason against Arab countries.

Relations between Hamadbin Khalifa and Iran:

Former Iranian Ambassador to Qatar Abdullah Sehrabi alleged that Former Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamadbin Khalifa Al-Thani preferred dealing with Iranians especially who lived in his country. Sehrabi cited bin Khalifa as saying that he was traveling abroad to seek remedy by Iranian doctors.

Iran penetrated most Qatari institutions:

In an interview, Sehrabi claimed that Iran has a great influence in different sectors in Qatar, including technical and engineering services, adding that Qatar recruited Iranian pilots to work for Qatari airlines with high salaries and modern training courses.

Security and intelligence relations:

Sehrabi alleged that Doha played a mediation role in liberation of 48 Iranian civilians arrested by al-Nusra front in Syria. Meanwhile, Iran helped Doha to liberate Qatari emirs arrested two years ago in Iraq.

Relations between Hamadbin Khalifa and Khamenei:

Sehrabi claimed that Hamadbin Khalifa and his son Tamim were so keen to meet Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, even though Tamim could not for diplomatic protocol when he was Crown Prince of Qatar.

Hamadbin Khalifa apologized to Iran:

Sehrabi alleged that former Qatari emir extended an apology to Iran for taking part in the Iraqi war against Iran during the eight years of war.

Qatar tried to provoke Saudi Arabia in 2007:

The former diplomat continued his allegations saying that bin Khalifa invited former Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to participate for the first time in the Gulf Summit held at Qatar in 2007, aiming at bolstering relations with Tehran.
