CAIRO – 12 August 2017: The head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Ali Akbar Salahi, revealed new betrayals by the Qatari regime in cooperation with Iran, during his interview with the Iranian news site Al-Mashreq.

Salahi said that the former emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, visited Tehran several times at the beginning of the Syrian crisis and advised the Iranian leadership to assist to collapse the Syrian regime soon.

The Emir of Qatar warned Tehran to stay away from Bashar al-Assad and said that it is better to cut off ties with Assad so that members of the Iranian leadership could have a place in the new regime, Salahi added.

The statements of the Iranian official reflected the betrayals of the Qatari regime throughout the history of its cooperation with Iran, where Hamad bin Khalifa was painting Tehran's policies in the region and helping them to implement their suspicious agenda in the Arab countries. It also marks the beginning of unprecedented security cooperation between the two countries in recent years.
