CAIRO – 27 July 2017: Fourteen terrorists’ explosive devices and five shelters were destroyed in North Sinai by the army forces affiliated to the second field army Thursday, according to army spokesperson Tamer el-Refai.

The statement noted that the efforts of the armed forces in combating terrorist activity and arresting takfiri elements came as part of the fourth stage of the ‘Right of the Martyr’ Operation in North Sinai and has continued 10 days so far.

On Wednesday, the spokesperson statement said that during the past eight days about forty terrorists were killed, 5 arrested, and twenty armored vehicles and four motorcycles were destroyed.

On July 16, the armed forces of the third field army succeeded to kill three dangerous takfiris and arrest another during a shootout in a sweeping operation inside central Sinai.

Also on July 7, Egypt’s military forces killed at least 40 militants who had attempted to attack several checkpoints in North Sinai. Modern cameras and advanced communication equipment were also seized with takfiris.

During the confrontations, a car bombing attacked a number of military troops, killing and injuring 26 personnel, Refaei added in his statement.
